International Day of Democracy

"I'm sure that nobody knows that today is named the international day of democracy. For me the surprise was this morning when I see my smartphone and in its screen is shown the national day of 4 center-american nations (without take in account the night of "Grito' in Mexico).  The day, was adopted by the IPU (I don't know what is IPU but it's interesting to make the mention) in the ONU general assembly to celebrate and to empathize the important of the democracy for the humanity and the nations.

However, democracy is a diffused word in the human dictionary. And may be, only a little group of humans knows the real significance of the democracy. People thinks that democracy is vote. Is election. Is the force of the majority over the minority. People thinks that democracy is only a choice (In the United States version of the democracy... you can take a choice, this one of the other one, no more...) and in other non-real-love democracies, I have tolerance of your political views... if is the same that me.

In reality, may be one of the differences with the wild nature and human nature is the existence of the democratic principles. Not is the natural selection to "win" because I'm the most strong or we are many... more that the others. The democracy is humanitarian because all people is represented, especially the minority. Democracy is almost human, because the solidarity, diversity and tolerance exist to make decisions, not choices, because there are ideas and models... programs... not only people and phrases.

Origins of the democracy may be was not better, in first time was a power question. However, in the human consciences more than the power over others, it exist the historic transcendence. Influence to change the world, to rest in the history lines. Hence, ideas are not enough. Arguments, plans, the possibility to make real to make happy all people. Or almost satisfy their needs or expectations.

My idea of democracy is diversity. Options (not one or two, many). Ongoing discussion and reflection. And of course, responsibility not only with a region or country, for me the responsibility with our human civilization and with the planet.

Today, in the international day of democracy, when we are during election times..., I think about the real sense of the democracy... the sense in my life and in this part of the planet that I call my country. Until where is really mine?. "
